MINI-Biography:


Jean-Jacques Rousseau was born June 28, 1712. He was a major Genevious philospher, writer and composer of the 18th century. He wrote novels such as "Emile: Or on Education", and "Julie, ou la nouvelle Heloise'. Rousseau also made contributions to music. He was the most popular philosopher among all the others. Jean-Jacques Rousseau focused on what influenced men to act negatively towards society. He believe that art and science wasn't beneficial to humankind becuase they didn't come about naturally. He was an advocate and was one of the first modern writers to attack private property.
Jean-Jacques Rousseau political philosophy was politics and mortality should not be separated. He had an idea of education and how it could be influenced as today modern education.
His theory on education were two assumptions that men were created by nature and that society was corrupt. After, he decided to reform and live a new life. He was the founding father of democratic nationalism. He saw the people as the true foundations of a nation. Rousseau theorized, distinct forms of government have to do only with the execution of the sovereign laws. He said "democracy is dangerous in application to particular cases, where the general will of government can easily be lost in the pressure of private interests.

Yes. He wrote books that many people read. He also wrote a lot too, so he was mainly known for that by people. He was much more famous for his romantic novel 'Julie, ou la nouvelle Heloise' which was read by a large number of people throughtout his time.
